We just got back from a vacation at the beach. I’d promise to blog about it, but we all know how woefully behind I am on all the various things I need to blog about, so… maybe I will, maybe I won’t.
At any rate! I am posting because when we picked up our phone to make a call, there was no dial tone. Furthermore, calls made to our number are apparently going to some guy with a strong Indian accent. He lives in our home town but has a telephone number which is nowhere near our own. Thankfully, we’re not exactly Grand Central Station receiving calls, and he is being very gracious and accepting this weird turn of events with good humor.
AT&T says they should have it fixed by this coming Thursday, six days from now.
Long story short: we have no home phone. If you need me, call my cell. If you don’t have my cell number, let me know. And if you get Nice Indian Guy, tell him I said hi.
This morning while doing my grocery shopping I picked up a bagel from Harris Teeter for breakfast. Instead of the usual paper bags with the codes printed on them, they had plastic bags. I pulled one off the roll and tried to open it. I shook it, I rubbbed it between my palms, I tried everything but it just wouldn’t open. I went at it longer than I should have, assuming that since it was 7:30 in the morning I must not quite be up to speed yet.
Then I examined the bag more closely. It was a single piece of plastic. There was no back to the bag, just the printed front. I might as well have been trying to open a sheet of paper.
Sayeth my husband: “Ask them to see the video before they post it on youtube.”
Heh. I may have started my day trying to accomplish the impossible, but at least it was funny.
ETA: I was going to link to a video, but apparently I can’t, so here’s a link to the post where I saw it. Maybe you’ll have better luck there.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’m trying to crank out as many Jayne hats and kits as I can before Christmas, which means I’m knitting in the morning instead of posting.
In the meantime… SQUIRREL!
I’ve been needing a new legion of minions to do my bidding. This looks like just the ticket.
