Lowfat fish recipe
I’ve got a LJ buddy who’s trying to lose weight, so I thought I’d post up occasional low fat, low calorie, or at least quick-to-cook recipes.
This is a good one to start in the morning and then pop in the oven when you get home.
‘Italian’ Baked Fish
1 to 1 1/2 pounds flounder, orange roughy or other similar type fish (tilapia/asian basa is cheap and works fine. The weight comes to about 3 filets.)
1/4 cup fat-free Italian dressing
2 T lemon juice
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1/4 t garlic powder
Arrange fish in a single layer in a shallow baking pan.
Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl, mixing well.
Spoon over fish. Marinate in fridge anywhere from 4 hours to overnight, turning fish occasionally.
Preheat oven to 375F.
Bake fish uncovered 20 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
For crisper fish, place it under the broiler for a few minutes before serving.
27g of protein, 2 g fat, 2 g carbohydrates. Not too shabby, and not really as white-bread tasting as it sounds.
I’m planning on making this tomorrow with some steamed asparagus or salad and rolls.
