DR weddings, Spring cleaning, and lack of time.

Helped out with a Dragonrealms wedding last night. Shakahn came by, and he’s always the life of the party. (P.S. – look at his cool snakes!) A good time was had by all. In fact, it looks like some of the people at this shindig are going to get married themselves, and that’s always good to hear. It wasn’t the best evening for an online commitment, since the hubby had to work, and my daughter kept popping out of bed while preparations were going on. Having a host coordinator always eases things, though. Keeani’s a good one, and she was a big help. And I really do enjoy doing these – there’s nothing like a giant panther hacking the rings up onto the altar to liven things up. I wound up going out to get a venti mocha from Starbucks with my daughter at about 6, since I knew it would be a late night. That’s my first coffee in several weeks. Half of it’s still in the fridge, I’m about to go break it out.

What did the daughter and I do yesterday? My little fashion diva decided she wanted to curl her hair. Oy.

I swear, I don’t know where she gets it.

Hats are going to Greater Manchester and to London tomorrow. On the needles now is California, to be followed by Texas and Glasgow. Love you UK folks, you really seem to embrace the inner space cowboy. I’m up to 1/31 on the list, and working on folks I gave a 7-8 week estimate to, so we’re on schedule.

Cleaned out the closet today. I was expecting a lot more things to not fit me anymore. It was good, because I’d been thinking that I really needed to go shopping, but apparently I can still wear clothes from years gone by. Fine with me!

While cleaning out the drawers, I found a blue scarf that I had completely forgotten I had ever knit.

It’s nice, although these days I probably wouldn’t knit with acrylic unless I were stuck on a deserted island with only a bucket of Red Heart. But let this be a lesson. The scarf looks nice, it’s held up well to being jammed under my jeans for ten years, so there’s something to be said for synthetics. I’ll try to be less of a snob after this.

I’m going to cast on for a baby sweater very soon, honest. However, next week is Spring break, which means my daughter is out of school. So, I’ll probably stop knitting the sweater about halfway through when I realize I don’t have enough time, and will make a hat and possibly booties. Hey, just bein’ realistic.

Everybody wish my mom well. She’s an incredibly energetic woman who has been told that she temporarily has to stop swimming, lifting weights, taking brisk walks, and using the computer in order to let her tendonitis heal. Mom, I’m about to call you to be sure you haven’t spontaneously combusted from energy buildup.

Let’s get a “Hi, Mom!” shoutout!

Have a great day, everyone!

You are such a nice one. Unlike someone who will go nameless in case she reads friendsfriends (and probably does, and probably will notice anyway) who has recently been writing substantial, un-lj-cut posts in Japanese just for fun and practice.

    Ew.

I’ll admit, I do tend to go on sometimes, but there are limits.

Hi, Mom! It sounds like you like to stay busy, but try to kick back and take it easy while on the mend!
