Unexpected.

I was presented with the possible opportunity to buy the entire contents of a yarn store which is going out of business for wholesale cost.

How far into e-commerce do I want to go?

I have no idea what to do.

That is way cool! You could always do the ebay type thing where you offer the yarn at a discounted rate. The lack of overhead should still allow you to make a profit. What kinds of yarn are we talking here?

Oh, and I’m *finally* working up some fingerless gloves with the Koigu you traded me for some Manos eons ago. I like to let my yarn marinate a bit.

Heh. You’re one up on me, then. I still have the Manos in my closet, and take it out periodically to love it and pet it.

The yarn is nice stuff, for the most part. There’s some Lion Brand low-end, but then there’s also Cherry Tree Hill, a few skeins of ArtYarns superwash, various Mango Moon yarns, lots of Noro, Cascade, Patons, Crystal Palace, plus lots of needles and notions.

eBay may be the way to go. That way I could offer as much as I liked without getting overwhelmed with having to package 20 bazillion things for shipping all at once.

Oooh, nice. You’ll have to let me know if you offer the ArtYarns on ebay so I can bid. I’m wearing some Supermerino socks right now and they are so nice.

I have to second. I think it’d be a good idea, but do you have to house the yarn yourself?

you also have to ask yourself whether you’d actually sell it. It would be tempting to just keep it all for yourself, after all.

I think you should totally go for it. You would be a fantastic seller and I would be thrilled to buy yarn from you 😀

I might have brought home a bunch of $6 skeins of Kureyon. And some $12 Iro. And some $8 Big Kureyon.

    Ahem.

You know, I wonder about packaging up that 1 skein Kureyon hat pattern with a skein of Kureyon. Hmmm…

I think that’s a great idea. New knitters especially love kits. You could do a 2 skein sock pattern for the Artyarns, maybe a scarf pattern that shows off striping yarn like a lengthwise scarf with a couple skeins of Noro, and other kits.
