Nuts.
My daughter has class pictures tomorrow, and I had mentioned to her that we could go get a dress today for that. We ran out of time, so I went out and picked her up a cute skirt and shirt tonight after she went to bed. She really did need a new one, because she has grown four inches in the past year. I kid you not. She’s six years old, 55 pounds, and 4’1″ now.
The problem is, I got a size eight skirt (the correct size) but had picked up a size eight shirt, put it down, shopped around, then apparently picked up a size four before checking out. I think the shopkeeper straightened it back into the pile, and I didn’t notice. It was not her fault, though, it was mine, since I should have confirmed it was right before buying it. So now my daughter has a very cute skirt and shirt combo, with the shirt two sizes too small. I picked up some groceries after getting her outfit, so the shop was long closed by the time I noticed at 9:30.
Let’s hope she still fits into one of her two summertime dresses. I can’t believe I did that. I’m going to be kicking myself all night.
Bottom rubbish!
I bought some navy 3/4 pants by accident last week. I was sure they were black. And then I saw them in the sunlight. Hooley Dooley. Navy is my Least Favourite colour. Luckily they were from Target and so I could return them.
I hope you manage a presentable outfit. 🙂

How did it go?

It went very well. The dress fit, and even though it was only 62 degrees this morning, by the time school let out it was 80, so she wasn’t cold at all. She did want to change as soon as she got home. Her teacher said she enjoyed twirling in her “beautiful pink dress” and that she smiled, so I’ll take that as a success.
While she was at school, I exchanged that shirt. As soon as Emily saw it at home (her dress was off, she was running around in just a pair of shorts) she wanted to put it on. Leaf green short-sleeved sweater, velvety pink skirt, white tights, pink bow – and pink Converse high-tops. So she was super-girly all day. I’d show you pics, but my camera is off in Virginia with my husband right now.

Hee! But with pink sneakers! Gotta admire her for sensible shoes.
Glad things worked out!
