Donors Choose yarn contest is over
Well, the Wearwithstyle Donors Choose yarn contest is over, which means you won’t have to hear me yammering about it anymore. It looks like we raised about $300. I picture a lot of happy kids with pencils, paper, scissors, and so forth. I picture a teacher excitedly opening UPS boxes, renewing her enthusiasm. I picture an entire Katrina classroom in Houston outfitted because of the generosity of knitters.
Believe it or not, every single person who donated won a prize, and some people won more than one. Right now, I’m debating whether to let people know in advance what they won, or just have a surprise package of yarny goodness show up on their doorstep. Opinions?
I should have said this sooner Tvini. But yer wondermous. Houston area schools are 30 Million in the hole just from the Katrina kids. Not thir fault but a fact. And that doesn’t include school supplies which most teachers are buying themselves. But folks like you and Westryl are angels

Thanks, sweetie. It’s the least we can do to support you Texas teachers!

I would vote surprise package of yarny goodness, mostly because “yarny goodness” is just so much fun to say, but depending on how you’re shipping, some advance notice might be a good thing.
Sashera–don’t forget to save your receipts. You can claim those school supplies on your taxes (wish they had been doing that when I was teaching in Dallas).
