The old Impalement Prevention Device vanished, so I made a new one and tied it on with some spare Jayne yarn.
All I want is for that bolt to be noticed. I’d say this is noticeable.

I disagree, now it looks deceptively safe. Even in this picture I can hardly see its a dangerous bolt. Before you get close enough to it i bet people will be like…hmm a mass of string.
Hm, I didn’t think of that, but I can see your point. I should have just wrapped the orange yarn around it.
I think its festive!
the city has no plans to make it shorter or paint it red or anything, eh?
Nice! Speaking of Jayne yarn, I want to make a Jayne hat for someone who’s going through chemo. Do you know of a yarn that comes in the appropriate colors that would be good for that?
Hm. I can’t think of an inexpensive one offhand. I’ve made chemo Jayne hats out of Auraucania Nature Cotton, which has fairly close colors. I’ve made supersoft baby versions out of Karabella Aurora 8 and Aurora Bulky. Both of those can get rather pricey.
I’d say your best bet is to try to find a good texture rather than a perfect color match. A rustic yarn is going to be too rough for a sensitive chemo scalp. If you don’t find something you like, I probably have some Karabella in my stash. If I do, I’d be glad to share it. I have a strict one in/one out policy on my stash now anyway, so if I send you yarn that means I can make room for more.
yarn bombing
Brava.
