Atsa lotta Jaynes

As of this morning, the Jayne hat line is up to nine weeks and could go up to ten at any moment. Someone ordering now might not get their Jayne hat until February. Yowch. I’ll give you one guess as to what I’ll be doing this morning. Hint: it involves yarn.

And while we’re on the subject of Jayne hats, check out this fantastic package I got from a Browncoat in Germany! When placing his order, he asked if there was anything from Germany I might like to have. I of course mentioned currency, and that if he wanted to put anything else in, my daughter loved candy.

This was truly above and beyond! He even arranged the Euros so that it was easy to tell the different denominations at a glance. I swear, Browncoats are the best people. I told him we didn’t need to worry about payment, this was payment enough.

As if this weren’t enough, he’s also sending a second package with a bottle of beer for my husband. My husband, in return, is bottling up his current offering, so we can send him an American Pale Ale. I’m sure he’s familiar with the type, but my husband is feeling very good about this particular brew. I tell you, nice guys abound in my life.

By the way, many thanks to everyone who’s donated currency so far. Rupees, Bahamian quarters, yen, shillings… this stuff is super cool. Today I’ll be taking pics of each individual set that I’ve gotten so I will remember who gets what back when it’s all over.

Okay, I’m hitting the grocery store, then watching Across the Pacific with Humphrey Bogart. Based on this 1943 review, I expect great things.

Needless to say, I’ll also be knitting like the wind! Woo!

    May your fingers fly!

(Of course, I found the metal rupees as soon as I got home last night, so if you will be at BAM on Wednesday, I will try to be there too. With coins.)

Hi there! Another NC Browncoat here. Is there a wait on the Jayne hat kits?

Hey! Good to see you supporting the writers!

The kits usually go out in a few days, so that’s definitely a better bet. One of the many benefits of knowing how to knit!

Yay! My sister is a knitter (I crochet), and her birthday is in January, so I was thinking of getting her a kit for that. She likes Jayne very much though she hasn’t finished the series. But she loves Jayne and orange, and I thought I would give her a copy of your letter to the Big Damn Heroes. That will really make it for her. Our brother has Asperger’s Syndrome (the doctors have recently added PDD to his diagnosis), and she is majoring in music therapy, and between those things she is especially sensitive and supportive of individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

I <3 foreign monies. It's just a neat thing to collect. You're making me wish I had more of it lol.

Let me know what you think of the Milka chocolate if your daughter will share. I just bought some from Caputos (It’s an Italian market here, that also has sections for other cultures’ food.) and it is quite yum.

I have to tell you, the therapies have really made a difference for Emily. I have no doubt that your sister will improve the lives of the people she works with. Tell her that a total stranger says thanks! 🙂

My daughter is devouring the gummi bears at an alarming rate, but shows no interest in the chocolate. I mean, she hasn’t wanted to try it. It may be that she wants to wait until she’s done with the gummis before she moves on to the next thing, but I’m going to ask her today if she minds if I get started on it. You snooze, you lose!

My brother has benefited from occupational therapy and speech therapy as well. It is so amazing what those therapists can do!
