The Man They Call Teeklin

Simucon 2007! I saw Teeklin in his Serenity shirt and gave him my business card. Talk about excited! Ten minutes later, he was the most cunningly hatted man at the ‘Con. A man walks into the hotel that hat, people know he’s not afraid of anything. He called me on my cell phone later – his buddy wants one today. Can do!

Simucon 2007! The theme for the costume dealie was "pirates and gypsies." The wedding party which happened to be staying here will surely have something to talk about at their reception. None of these people is me, by the way.

There were computers and board games galore in the game room, but these folks made their own fun. Note ping pong ball flying toward the blue cups on the end. I think the guy throwing it was winning. Again, none of these people is me. The blue lanyards holding their badges marks them as Gemstone IV players.

I spun this in and near the game room at Simucon last nght. The wool was from SakinaNeedles.com. This is 197 yards, and roughly worsted weight. Nobody wanted to take a try at the wheel, although Riel’s daughter did try out the hand carders. It still turned out to be fairly hypnotizing and the wheel became a gathering point. Good conversation starter. Not sure what I’ll do with this – I need to see how much yardage the EZ Baby Surprise Jacket takes. I’ll bring my wheel back out again today.
