April Fool’s in Dragonrealms was fun. I wrote a total of 20 messages and a couple of moon mage visions (including one that hopefully won’t get me fired), and aunt-reexy (That’s GM Reexa) and Jaedren each wrote as well. GM Adera handled the actual announces, so that Plat and the Fallen got them as well. Jaedren, always up for a good gag, put out stacks of fake coins, a mirror blade in a stone, and assorted other pranks for the players. GM Armifer put a new constellation in the sky. Others got in on the act as well. April Fool’s Day – the one day of the year when we blow off steam without actually killing players. As much.

We spaced the announcements throughout the day so it hopefully wasn’t too overwhelming for our players. I only heard one use of REPORT for a complaint. I went down to speak with that person, and he was very cheerful, taking things in good grace, so I think everything was fine.

The players did get us back. We made this announcement: Effective immediately, the new “outhouse” system is live. Outhouses themselves should be in place next week. Look for new functionality to the “go” verb and please remember that all town littering laws are still in effect.

We suddenly got coordinated assists from at least 15 players with variations of “So where are these outhouses! I realllllllllllllly need to go!”

Our poor hosts. We had to put out another announce: “If you are assisting as to the location of outhouses, please cancel your assist. You should have thought of that before we left home.”

My personal favorite announce was the last one of the night: As of now, the “Real Gems” program has been discontinued, to be replaced by the “Real Hens” program. Players finding a chicken in the game will be sent an actual pullet via the U.S. Postal System. Please be sure your mailing address is up to date to prevent misrouted poultry. No P.O. boxes, please. We told those who REPORTED asking about air holes that they were a premium feature. Overseas customers could have a complimentary air freshener included.

All in all, a fun day.

I am planning on posting about the chalk eggs, but I just sent a letter to the other Brownie moms and want to hear from them about how their eggs went first.

Our Spring Break is going great so far. Right now Emily’s playing one of her beloved Freddi Fish games, but later we’ll be going out. Hope you’re enjoying the nice weather too!
